Keep your highs when you roll back the volume.
This treble bleed circuit is designed specifically for use with 250k potentiometers — ideal for single-coil pickups or any setup where clarity matters. Wired in parallel for smoother performance, this circuit preserves brightness and articulation as you lower the volume, preventing your tone from becoming muddy or lifeless.
★ Component Specs
• Capacitor: Kemet Multilayer Ceramic (MLCC) – 100V 1000pF
• Resistor: Vishay Metal Film – 150KΩ 1%, 1/8W
• Wiring: Parallel configuration (not series)
• Solder: Hand-soldered using Kester 44 Rosin Core 63/37 for clean, reliable connections — the same trusted solder used in our prewired kits.
★ What It Does
When you turn your volume knob down, most stock circuits also bleed off treble, leaving your tone flat and lifeless. This treble bleed mod counteracts that effect by allowing high frequencies to bypass the volume pot as it’s rolled back.
The result?
More clarity, more articulation, and a more usable volume knob. Whether you’re taming a jangly Strat or preserving sparkle on a Tele — this simple mod keeps your tone alive across the entire volume range.
🛠️ Installed inline between the input and output lugs of the volume pot.
