Keep your highs when you roll back the volume.
This treble bleed circuit is built for 1 Meg potentiometers — commonly found in vintage-style or high-output setups where treble retention is critical. Wired in parallel for a smoother, more natural taper, this mod keeps your top-end intact as you dial back the volume, delivering a clearer, more consistent tone throughout the range.
★ Component Specs
• Capacitor: Kemet Multilayer Ceramic (MLCC) – 100V 1200pF
• Resistor: Vishay Metal Film – 470KΩ 1%, 1/8W
• Wiring: Parallel configuration (not series)
• Solder: Hand-soldered using Kester 44 Rosin Core 63/37 for clean, reliable connections — the same trusted solder used in our prewired kits.
★ What It Does
Without a treble bleed, high-value pots like 1 Meg can roll off high frequencies even faster than standard pots, making your tone sound dull when the volume is reduced. This mod solves that by letting high frequencies bypass the volume pot, preserving brightness as you turn down.
The result?
A more responsive volume knob that maintains attack, sparkle, and detail. Whether you’re rolling back for rhythm tones or cleaning up your gain — your guitar stays lively and expressive.
🛠️ Installed inline between the input and output lugs of the volume pot.
