These aren’t your average bargain-bin electronics with cold solder joints and scratchy signals. Every CLE GUITAR WORKS harness is hand-built and road-tested using only premium components — because your tone deserves better, and cheap parts have no place between your pickups and your amp.
Each harness includes:
★ CTS POTENTIOMETERS for smooth, consistent control
★ SWITCHCRAFT SWITCHES and DUAL-CONTACT JACKS for rock-solid reliability
★ Hand-wired by yours truly — with over 20 YEARS of experience wiring and modding guitars for A-LIST ARTISTS around the world
★ Vintage-spec push-back wire
★ Or Pure 20 AWG 5N SILVER lead wire (Depending on the series), paired with 16 AWG ground bus wire — delivering a clean, stable, and transparent signal chain.
Also included:
★ JUPITER CONDENSER CO. CAPACITORS — premium, American-made caps trusted by even the most tone-obsessed audiophiles. They deliver the clarity and musicality your rig deserves, both in the STUDIO and ON STAGE.
Wiring is the unsung hero of your signal chain. It’s not flashy — but it’s the main artery that carries your tone from pickup to amp:
UNCOLORED. UNFILTERED. EXACTLY how it’s meant to sound.
DON’T LET WEAK PARTS CHOKE YOUR SIGNAL.
DON’T LET CHEAP WIRING FAIL YOU ON STAGE.
INVEST IN RELIABILITY. INVEST IN TONE.
"Nocaster" Blend Pre-Wired Kit (Bumblebee Spec)
★ Vintage ’50s Telecaster “Blend” Wiring
In the early ’50s, before the modern Tele layout, Fender used a blend control instead of a tone knob. This setup let you:
-
Position 1: Bridge pickup with a blend knob to mix in the neck pickup.
-
Position 2: Neck pickup alone, no tone control — just its pure, natural sound.
-
Position 3: Neck pickup through a capacitor for a dark, bass-heavy “deep rhythm” tone.
Originally found on Broadcasters, No-Casters, and early Telecasters, this circuit used two 250K pots, a .05µF cap, and a 15K resistor. Produced until late 1952, it delivered three unique voices from a simple 3-way switch.
★ Kit Specs
• Potentiometers: (2) CTS 250K Vintage-Style Solid Shaft, 3/8” Bushing Diameter with 1/4” Bushing Length, Audio Taper.
• Capacitor:
– .047µF Jupiter Bumblebee
(Aluminum Foil, Paper-in-Oil Construction)
• Resistor:
– 15K ohm 1/2 watt NOS Carbon Comp Resistor
• Switch: CRL 3-Way Blade Switch
• Jack: Switchcraft Dual-Contact ¼” Mono Jack (Nickel)
• Wire: Vintage-spec cloth push-back wire (Upgrade to pure 5N Silver 20AWG for lead wiring)
• Ground Bus: 16 AWG tinned copper
• Solder: Sn63/Pb37 rosin core for superior flow and strength
• Optional: Volume treble bleed circuit
★ Compatibility
Fits most USA Fender Telecaster models with standard control plates.
Also compatible with most Squier Telecaster models; however, factory components (typically Alpha-brand pots) use smaller metric-sized shafts and mounting holes, so careful reaming may be required to fit ⅜” CTS pots.
The CRL switch’s throw may require light filing of the control plate slot to ensure full engagement in all positions.
This harness is wired in the vintage Nocaster-style configuration, using a 3-way CRL blade switch as follows:
-
Position 1: Bridge pickup with neck blend control (via 15k resistor for smoother taper)
-
Position 2: Neck pickup only, standard tone and volume
-
Position 3: Neck pickup with fixed treble roll-off (dark circuit), bypassing the tone control for a bassier, jazzier tone
This circuit delivers classic early-’50s tone with wide-ranging control — from biting lead tones to rolled-off, moody textures — making it a favorite for traditionalists and tinkerers alike.
